Medicare answer

Can a Medicare agent visit my home in Wood or Lucas County?

By the Kryder Cares data team · Reviewed by Kris Kryder, licensed agent · Last updated

Yes, if you ask for the visit. Medicare marketing rules bar agents from unsolicited door-to-door visits, but you can invite a licensed agent such as Kris to your home to compare 2027 plans. Before talking about Medicare Advantage or Part D plans, the agent records a Scope of Appointment listing the plan types you want to discuss.

This applies to anyone with Medicare, or turning 65, in Wood or Lucas County. A home visit costs you nothing, and it does not commit you to enroll in anything.

How it works: what happens at the kitchen table

You call or book the time. Kris records a short Scope of Appointment first (in writing for an in-person visit), so the visit covers only what you asked about, under 42 CFR 422.2264. CMS’s 2027 rule removed the old 48-hour wait between the form and the meeting, as summarized here, but the form still comes first. At the table she goes through your doctors, your prescriptions and your budget, and compares the plans she represents in your county.

Her Google reviews describe the same thing: she comes to the house, checks every doctor and prescription, and fills out the applications with you.

What it costs: nothing to you

There is no fee to meet with Kris at home, at her Perrysburg office, or by phone or video. Agents are paid by the insurance company, not by you.

You can end the visit at any time, and you do not have to enroll in anything. She can only discuss the plan types you listed on the Scope of Appointment; if you want to talk about something else, she records a new one.

What to do next

Book a time and have these ready: your Medicare card, your current plan card and its Annual Notice of Change, your doctor list, and your prescription bottles. Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7, 2026, so book early if you want to change plans for January 1.

Related questions

Can an agent knock on my door without an appointment?

No. Medicare marketing rules do not allow unsolicited door-to-door contact by agents selling Medicare Advantage or Part D plans. A home visit happens only when you ask for it. If someone shows up uninvited, you do not have to let them in. Kris Kryder compares your 2027 options with you at no cost. Call (419) 277-8097.

What is a Scope of Appointment?

A short form you complete before the meeting that lists the plan types you want to discuss, such as Medicare Advantage or Part D. It keeps the visit to what you asked about and is required for those plans. Kris sends it ahead of time.

Does Kris visit outside Wood and Lucas County?

She meets clients at home in northwest Ohio and by phone or video anywhere she is licensed. Ask when you book, and she will tell you whether a home visit or a video call fits your area. Kris Kryder walks you through this at no cost. Call (419) 277-8097.
