Only if your dentist is in that specific plan’s dental network, and that can differ from plan to plan. Original Medicare does not cover routine dental care such as cleanings, fillings or dentures, so many people choose a Medicare Advantage plan partly for its dental extra. Each plan sets its own network, yearly dollar limit and rules, so the only way to know is to check your dentist against the plan for 2027 before you enroll.
This applies to anyone choosing or keeping a Medicare Advantage plan in Wood or Lucas County for 2027. A plan’s dental benefit is an extra the plan chooses to offer, so it can change every January. Kris checks your dentist against each plan with you.
How it works: dental is a plan extra, not Medicare coverage
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) generally does not pay for routine dental care. It can pay for dental work that is part of a covered medical procedure, such as an exam before a kidney transplant. Medicare Advantage plans (Part C) may include extra benefits such as dental, and each plan decides what it offers.
Plans usually arrange dental through a network of dentists. A dentist who takes your health plan card does not automatically take its dental benefit, and a dentist can be in one plan’s network and out of another’s, even from the same company. That is why “does my dentist take Medicare Advantage?” has no single answer.
Here is how many Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage you can choose from for 2027. The count is for plans, not dental networks: CMS publishes no dentist lists, so each plan’s own directory is the source for your dentist.
| County | Plans in 2027 | Plans with a $0 premium |
|---|---|---|
| Wood County (Perrysburg, Bowling Green, Rossford) | 72 | 43 |
| Lucas County (Toledo, Maumee, Sylvania, Oregon) | 76 | 45 |

What to do next
Bring your dentist’s name and office address, plus your Medicare card and current plan card. Kris checks the dentist against each 2027 plan you are considering, as she has for clients who asked which insurance their dentist accepts. Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7, 2026, and a plan you choose starts January 1, 2027.
